Chickenpox vaccine at Boots

I am wondering if anyone has received their chickenpox vaccine at Boots?

I am in my late 20s and have 2 young nieces so have decided that I am going to get it. I have actually booked it for next week but my second appointment will need to be at a different Boots to the one where I will have my first dose - has anyone done that before and knows whether it is possible? There is no number to call on their website!

I booked DS jab online. Nice and easy! He was absolutely fine afterwards following both of them, and I'm glad to have spared him CP. I had it when I was 26 and it was very unpleasant and inconvenient as I'm self employed so lost a ton of money not being able to work for those two weeks. I'd recommend just getting the jab if you want it and can afford it, it makes you feel really really poorly let alone the hideous itching. And th pox GOES EVERYWHERE ON YOUR BODY it's horrendous. Never again.

My DD had hers done at 2 different Boots stores just before covid. I took the paperwork from the first jab with me to the second appointment in case they couldn’t see it on the system. All was fine.

I had my DS done with the doses at two different Boots in the same city (due to Covid). It was on their system, all fine.

I didn’t realise boots did this, is there a minimum age limit?

LuckyKitty13 · 12/02/2022 21:03

They have to be 12 months or older.

Mine has just had the first jab aged 2 in preparation for starting preschool at 3

@RomeoMcFlourish recommended is at least 1 year old. Most countries in Europe give chicken pox from 13 months. I had my DC1 vaccinated and will definitely vaccinated DC2 when they are over 1.

Oh great, my DC will be able to have theirs then. Will be booking that tomorrow! Thanks for the info

I had my daughter vaccinated for Chickenpox at Superdrug a couple of years ago. First appointment was in Manchester, so booked again for second dose. Then we ended up booking a few days in Edinburgh so we called to cancel the Manchester appointment and made one for Edinburgh Superdrug. It was no problem. I think the retailer will create an account with your details so when you go for the second they’ll just log in and see when the first was given etc.
