Liver & Gallbladder Flush

Has anyone undertaken this? I'm reading a book by Andrea Moritz who suggests you drink an Epsom salt/grapefruit cocktail to naturally flush our gallstones.

Why would you do this? Do you have gallstones or would it be some sort of preventive measure? I've just been diagnosed with them - I also know mine are said to be large so I would be wary of deliberately trying to flush them in case they end up stuck in the duct and cause even bigger problems.

I don't think you'd want to naturally flush out a gallstone particularly. It wouldn't be very good for you.

It’s a load of alternative medicine rubbish. You’ll be shitting out what are essentially little globs of fat, not gallstones.

Please do not do this! I foolishly tried this after being diagnosed with gallstones. I was petrified of surgery so thought I would give this a go instead. It definitely dislodged something and I had my worst gallbladder attack ever that night. I've never been so ill in my life. I had surgery shortly after and it was such a relief to have it out.

I passed a gallstone, a small one, and it's pain I wouldn't wish on anyone! Messed up my liver too for a while.

Would 100% rather go through childbirth again instead.

I know it's not the in thing to suggest low fat diets anymore, but that's the only real way to manage gallbladder issues unless you have it out.

Load of rubbish (registered HCP)

Imagine how much the NHS would save if this was true.

Thanks for your replies. I don't think I will do this now.
