Hi have posted about this before.
Had my gall bladder removed in august since then have had 3 attacks similar to when I had gall stones. Had the 3rd atttack on friday and it was awful. Nearly phoned NHS24 but after taking both cocodamol and diclofenac got it under control. Anyway will be visiting G.P tomorrow but wondered if any onw else has experienced this.
I googled (bad idea i know)and there is a condition called Post Cholecystectomy Syndrome.
Has anyone had this?
I seem to remember someone mentioning this on a previous post, may be wrong though.

I had my gallbladder removed due to flare ups that's would happen every 3 to 4 months, I had mine out in March this year and I was fine then 6 weeks ago I woke up with chest pain and it frightened me big time so I went to my GP who kept giving me anti biotics and then finally I had a camera down my throat that detected nothing at all and then I started having pain in my right shoulder along with a weird pain in my ribs that made them feel as if they were bruised and if I inhaled in it would hurt my shoulder it'll would feel as if the pain had come alive I had mri a ultra sound scan and nothing at all I was in hospital for 8 days cause the ultra sound scan showed that my bile duct was dilated but the mri showed it had gone done. So I've hit a brick wall cause one minute I've got acid reflux the next I ain't got at one time I had an expected ulcer but it didn't show up then it was possible Gord but nothing was detected so I've been told to go see my Gp again but I don't see the point cause I don't see what they will do in general. Bored feeling unwell all the time I come home from work go to bed cause I don't feel well just hoping it's going to be something and nothing as I'm at the end of my tether and getting frustrated cause noone will give me answers just always saying to me it can't be that serious as we can't find nothing

Yes I had mine removed in March was fine no issues at all then out of the blue three months later started having pain in my chest, then I felt like I was having a constant gallstone attack as the pain would radiate to my right shoulder nothing would stop it and it would happen after I'd eaten and it wouldn't be fatty just plain food. Got taken into hospital and was told my bile duct was swollen and then had mri scan to reveal that it had gone down so hot sent home. That was two months ago here I am few weeks on terrified to eat cause I had a sandwich today just plain ham thought I was going to keel over I took Busco pan and it did go pretty much not long after. Was terrified of the pain. I had a scan today and it revealed bile duct is still swollen so I got to have a scan on my Digestive track. I think it's an never ending circle I feel worst now what I did before as before pain wasn't constant like now I've had a month of work cause I feel awful and had put in a note for another because most days I just stay in bed like I've lost half stone again cause in scared to eat. Its OK for people to say irlt will calm down be patient but when it's affecting your life its not that simple. I googled it and I wish I hadn't it came up sphincter of oddi and what you said as well then crohns disease I think lot of people have had ongoing issues tbh I think it's 50 percent who are OK rest ain't then I kno people who have suffered years later tbh I wouldn't wish it on anyone it's awful makes u depressed and stressed and you get told don't get stressed but when your feeling awful you are going to get stressed I get fed up of doctors saying I'm stressed thats my issue I'm over thinking it x I understand your pain hope you get it sorted soon if it helps you are not alone.

Yes, I had surgery back in march and I thought my problems would end, to my disappointment two months later I couldn't eat and lost half a stone, I went to the GP who told me this was impossible and that I was imagining it. I ended up in hospital for 8 days just being told that I had acid issues and I needed to be patient to get better. Then two days ago I had a numb pain in my back like a gall stone attack but lighter not so heavy because I used to have them for hours but this didn't last long left me feeling sick. I worked out that if I eat the wrong things I feel like I got flu I hurt cage all over like when I did when I had a gallbladder. I'm only 5 months onwards from surgery do I'm hoping my symptoms will calm in time because at the moment I feel rough constantly and bed is my favourite place to be. I've gone on a gluten free diet and bought something called psyllium husks, it's a herbal remedy from Holland and barrets it helps to digest food. I've not heard of may people who don't have issues after the surgery tbh if they don't they will years later. Try a gluten free diet just stick to it, I'm celiac so I got to but it's lighter on the stomach and you get less bloating. Lansaprasole 30 mg helps if not ranitidine. I've found that I learn a lot more from others about this not the GP tbh, and post cholosectomy is very common indeed. Buscopan is helpful too xx

Hello,
I had my gallbladder and appendix removed back in 2015! Ever since ive experienced upper middle abdominal pain. Its so intense im constantly ringing ambulances and going doctors to be told there is nothing they can do as all my tests come back clear! All ive been offered are bloods and the camera to look into my stomach ( which was a few years ago) im experiencing it right this second! Ive had enough and feel as if no one is listening. I have two girls aged 7 and 10 so sad they have to witness there mum in pain and crying rolled up in a ball all the time. Anyone else experience this and have any advice at all? Dont know what else to do!

Hi, I know this is an old post but I've been experiencing upper middle and right hand ab pain. It all started when I got covid 19 4 weeks . I had my gallbladder removed nov 2018 I've had a few attacks, one earlier this year had a scan and nothing. Not sure whether my anxiety due to catching covid exasperated it but, the aching, the wind is really annoying. I suffer from health anxiety so it doesn't help. How have people coped with their pain.
