Bulging discs

I have read on mumsnet about people with bulging discs but the threads are old so i am starting a new one.

6 weeks ago i got pain in one of my legs and lower back. I saw a doctor at my local hospital and she diagnosed with mild sciatica. She felt my spine an said it was fine. My symptoms did not go away so I got an MRI scan an it concluded that I have three bulging discs.

Can I make a complaint against the doctor who said there was nothing wrong with my spine? Had I not insisted on getting a scan then I would have no idea I have bulging discs and would be thining I just have mild sciatica. I am not in that much pain which is good because reading the other thread on this and speaking to my osteopath clinic, some people can hardly walk or bend but I hae never been tht bad.

Apparently bulging discs are quite common for people over the age of 40. The worse thing about having bulging discs is I still have some pain down the right leg (which we first thought was sciatica) and today my GP told me that I cannot go back to my keep fit class because the exercises are too strenuous because they involve a lot of jumping an skipping. I really want to be able to get back to that keep fit

Sciatica is caused by bulging discs so your diagnosis is sciatica. That's what you need to treat. The discs with the right treatment should recover. A good physio will be able to show you the best exercises to do to manage the condition.
