Hi any advice would be great, been very ill for months in hospital 3 times, had so many could be this it could be that but no diagnosis. Last set of bloods has shown a TSH 100 they called me and said in need to start hrt so I have been on it a month, no change, still no appetite, hot all the time sweats, muscle weakness, racing heart, which they tell me, everytime they check but getting nowhere, so I’ll have had many bloods ct scan, could this be a thyroid problem, I’m so desperate have no qauilty of life, can’t even walk around my house for longer than 10 mins, any advice would be appreciated

TSH of 100 is very high indeed. Normal range is often quoted as about 0.something to about 5. TSH is your thyroid stimulating hormone - when it is raised it is essentially showing you that your thyroid isn't doing it's job properly and a high TSH is the equivalent of your body shouting at your thyroid to work harder.
What you need is probably a prescription for levothyroxine, which is a synthetic version of the hormone your thyroid is supposed to produce but isn't doing properly.
Please speak to your GP or hospital doctor urgently to get treatment started, sounds like you really need it. You may need other bloods doing as well - for example they may wish to check whether you have anti thyroid antibodies - this could indicate that you have an autoimmune issue causing your body to sabotage your thyroid.
I hope you feel better soon.

The result needs to be interpreted (with units) in the context of the rest of your medical history and test results. Thyroid hormones are notoriously difficult to interpret in acute illness and it maybe that your team have a better understanding of the full picture than randoms on the internet looking at a single result without any details.

TSH on its own isn’t hugely useful. Yours is definitely very high (should be well under 5 - ideally under 2) but if it’s swinging between high and low it will cause different issues to a consistent high level so ideally try and find out what it was before.

What meds are you taking?

Thank you everyone for your reply’s, just really struggling, and over the last few months have been told different things, I’m not on any medication other than zopiclon tablet at night as sleep is impossible as I feel so ill, no one’s listening to me, see different doctors it’s very difficult

With a TSH of 100, you would be manifestly hypothyroid and to fail to treat you , with Levothyroxine in the first instance, would be nothing short of negligent.

I think you need to have a conversation with your GP, sooner rather than later.

Thanks again everyone, Gp said it’s normal to have a TSH of 100 as I am menopausal, she nows how ill I am as she’s sent me to hospital twice, banging my head against a brick wall

Are you sure it’s TSH and not FSH?
High FSH is normal if you are menopausal.
Also the symptoms you describe hot all the time, racing heart are not typical of an under active thyroid which is what a high TSH level would indicate.

I was going to day the same...not TSH(to do with thyroid) but FSH which is a reproductive hormone. You are menopausal hence the HRT.

I’m thinking that something has become muddled along the way, my husband came in with me, as he wanted to ask the doctor a few questions as she’s the one who has sent me to hospital twice. We both are sure she said TSH but we must have got it wrong, and there was me hoping thyroid was the answer 🤪

It is inconceivable that a doctor would say this about TSH.

TSH of 100 is a sign of serious hypothyroidism (low thyroid function) which needs treatment with thyroxine. Normal range is 0.5 to 5.0 mIU/L.

On the other hand the normal range for FSH after menopause is 25.8 to 134.8 mIU/mL

So surely the doctor was talking about FSH.
