Need some support, super painful and don’t think this or ‘normal’ and no idea what’s bought it on this time. Would appreciate anyone that’s willing to share their experience please Blush

Are you having bleeding? Can you see or feel them? I have internal piles that were only seen via colonoscopy, I had no idea I had them and they don’t cause issues.

Have you tried anusol?

It’s always good to get any bleeding or change of bowel habit that lasts more than a few week checked out.

Please go, they will give you Neutrogel (?) ointment. This should help seal the area till it heals and you'll be able to go the loo relatively pain-free.

Thank you for your replies. They are external, it’s honestly so painful and I feel so embarrassed. I have some over the counter cream but I will call my doctors tomorrow

Absolutely do not be embarrassed ! Try to let your mindset shift a bit. It’s completely normal problem. And usually for no worrying reason. Doctors have seen everything before. I once had to see doctor and was then referred to a same day clinic (a lot of bleeding - sudden onset never had problem before or since).

Was kind liberating to be in a waiting room where we all had the same problem.
Was prescribed something (forgotten the name) which worked remarkable quickly. Over the counter hadn’t really helped.
Good luck.

I developed piles during the second lockdown, so getting GP help was rather challenging and I only managed to arrange a face to face appointment when they had thrombosed (which was agony). The GP sent me straight to ambulatory care because of the severity, but I was sent back home from there with no treatment.

See your GP for help if the over the counter medication doesn’t work - there are other meds that will help. I found an ice pack was the best thing ever!

I’ve had them for years but the only time they have bothered me is when they have actually been something else ie misdiagnosed as piles. I’m lucky enough to have had a haematoma,, fistula and a fissure - thankfully all separately! All were agony especially the fissure. It’s worth getting checked as the treatments for piles don’t help all of these common conditions & could make them worse.
