Hi

Dc had braces fitted today. Has lost a tooth on side / towards rear of both sides of mouth. This has left a considerable gap, and both teeth have only fallen out in last 3 weeks, so very recent with new teeth not yet growing through.

The bracrs have been fitted with the wires spanning the gaps on each side of dc jaw, and only one tooth at the back of jaw on each side, so the little square bracket thing that is stuck to the teeth has only one holdingbtje brace on after the gap.

Whileceatibg dc has sone really soft checken casserole thatbthey could ferl getting tangled up onnthe wire that was spanning the gap, so i fished it out, then tjey said the bracecwas miving, and the little swuare bracket on the last tooth was sliding about on dc tooth, tjen shortly after it has come off in dc mouth! Now dc just jhas a run if wife going towards back of jaw not anchored to any teeth!

My question is durely it isnt correctvthat a brace has bern fitted crosding a gap so wire can ne moved by the tongue as it isnt resting against or next to any tooth for protection, and can get nudged about by foid being chewed, and trap food on it?

Dc doesnt seem to have an urgent need for braces so to me surely it would have bern better practice to rebook in a few moths time when the teeth have grown through?

Is this something to do with rushing a brace tjrough to claim funding?

I've managed to get an emergency appointmemt via 111 but I'm not convinced they have done the right thing fitting the braces how they have...
