Cystitis/Urinary Tract Infection - Need Antibiotics!

Its not an emergency, I'm just VERY uncomfortable and I know if I had antibiotics I would be right and dandy, be able to stand comfortably to make lunch/tea, not swear going for a wee, not feel a bit feverish...hell just feel NORMAL and no stabbing pain like a needle when I even need a wee (all the time now!)

So where do I get antibiotics on a sunday? Is there any way apart from emergency doctor?

Help!!

Sorry - but I think emergency docs/walkin or A&E is the only way. Save a sample of wee in a clean container, then if you can acquire some cranberry juice or tablets and start drinking masses of water that will help. The other thing you might still be able to get OTC in the chemists is something called Mist Pot Cit (a mixture of Potassium citrate) that you can dilute in water and it neutralises the wee so it soesn't sting. You have to save the sample first though, as it affects the lab tests.

It is only an emergency measure until you can get to doctor though, not good to have more than a couple of doses as it can upset your body chemistry.

Hope you manage to get seen somewhere soon.

I have managed to get antibiotics for a urinary tract infection from an NHS walk in centre
if there is one near you.
Good luck

Really, thought it was nurses only? My nearest is a 45 min journey and I'm guessing the traffic isn't good.

However my symptoms seemed to have calmed down again for a while anyway. Tried NHS direct, they are very busy and for urgent cases only. Well not peeing blood yet (like last time) so that wouldn't be me then!

Thank you for posting glucose, will certainly bear it in mind the nhs walkin! thank you!

Can you get to Tesco? Would a ton of cranberry juice and their cystitis relief sachets shift it?

What a PITA at this time of year!

Drink loads of water, try to flush it out - you may be able to get it cleared up without ab's
