Yesterday I noticed her soft spot seemed to be pulsating and I have just noticed that her soft spot is very sunken. She has been unsettled tonight and feeding constantly, then throwing up.
NHS direct are calling me back, but while I wait does anyone know what it may be.
I seemed to remember reading somewhere about the soft spot, if it is bulging or sunken it could be a sign that the baby isn't well.

We are first time parents so we dont really know what to do!!!!

I wouldn't give her water, my ds was very prone to vomit (he had reflux) and water made it much worse.

I personally used to wake him up to feed every 4 hours minimum, or he would get dehydrated.

If you post on the breast and bottle feeding forum you may get some responses from the bf experts.

Hope she gets better soon!

Thanks ib, I just don't know what to do for the best.

I would let her sleep but check she is responsive from time to time. Sleep helps them to regain their strenght (and it may give a little rest to his tummy too). If the nap is unusually long try to feed her (can you feed her without she waking up totally?)

Regarding the nappy change... of course they will have to be wet at each change! why else would you need to change them if they weren't? I would worry if she had not produced one wet nappy after checking at different times of the day. But for a missed one, particularly after projectile vominting, I would say it is understandable.

Now that she is sleeping try to get some sleep yourself at least for a little while.

TBH I could do with some sleep, but doubt that I wold be able to drop off.

LOL, I never thought of the nappy change that way (Lack of sleep will do that I suppose)

She does feed without waking at night so I will try to make sure she gets a feed at regular intervals.

Her soft spot is quite sunken again and I am going to be keeping a sharp eye on her today.

Thank you for your advice
