Hoping someone can calm me down! I've suffered with piles on and off for years but have had a recurring problem for over a year when I was pregnant with my little girl. Didn't really have any pain or anything just itching. 4 days ago I went to the toilet and had a msear of blood on the toilet paper which happens on and off but then the next day it was like a gush of blood which I've never had before. The day after and yesterday I went to the toilet and nothing no blood or anything but then this morning the gush of blood is back and I'm panicking! Obviously I will be seeing my gp but they are closed for the holiday just now. I'm really worried about the big C! I have terrible health anxiety so this had made me ill with worry

I hope you got this sorted. I have the same problem I went to the proctologist to a general surgon. I can feel the piles but still I have health anxiety so I went for the peace of mind . She checked me and did a small examination I think she could see the proctorectal passage and might had put her finger to make sure no tumors but she saw 4 piles stage 3 . I still occasionally wipe blood but I can feel the piles . I don’t know if that makes any difference . I still which she accepted to do a colonoscopy but she refused she said it’s unnecessary if I don’t have a family history or stomach ache plus she did examine me.

Sorry meant to say she refused a colonoscopy to rule out BC because I don’t have a family history or any Tommy aches.

If the blood is bright red it'll be the piles and you have nothing to worry about.
