...yourself, even if you felt well? in other words, if you were incubating a sick bug but were not yet feeling ill, could you pass it on to someone else?

am concerned about being in contact with vulnerable elderly relatives, after seeing my friend who recently vomited.

(yes, this is a spin off from my fondue saga, incase anyone is wondering. i know, i know, have dug my own grave , here...)

No idea but bumping for you because I want to know this as well!

You could be contagious if you had actually picked up the bug, but had not yet started to feel unwell.
My friend had a stomach bug, which her sister came down with later. Her sister kissed a friend goodbye, the night before she came down with the bug, and the friend caught the bug after this.

thanks, have just spoken to my brother who's had some medical training as his partner who is a qualified doc. they say that you could still pass it on despite lack of symptoms. wait 48 hrs to be safe. so... have answered my own question was hoping to visit somone who is a bit fragile.

yes you could definitely be contagious during the incubation period.
