DVT - can you get a DVT if on Clexane?

I was diagnosed with a DVT in left thigh at 28 wks. Since then I've been injecting clexane twice daily.
It's now been 9 wks since my DDs birth and I'm getting pains, cramps, numbness in my right lower leg. Should I be worried? ~Can you still get clots forming if on clexane??!
Have been to doctor and she dismissed it but still worried so would like to know if anyone has had a second clot whilst on medication! x

I don't think you can. And if you did have a clot then the treatment for a dvt is clexane. So the clexane you're taking would disolve a clot.

How long are they going to keep you on the clexane for?

clexane actually works by preventing the formation of clots, however, your body does the job itself of breaking down clots, so if you develop a clot whilst not taking clexane, then taking clexane will prevent firther clots forming and will prevent the clot from getting any bofgger, giving your body a chance to dissolve the clot..so in theory, toy shouldnt develop firther clots now you are on medication to thin your blood,..however, if you are worried, then go to casualty, they will take a blood test to see if you are likely to have a clot and will then do further tests if the result is pos HOWEVER, do not be alarmed but the blood test can come back indicative of a blood clot in the early weeks after giving birth, when there is no clot

On clexane until 3months after birth - so 3 wks to go. Common sense tells me it's not another DVT but wasn't sure about the success rate of clexane in preventing further clots.
Thanks both for taking the time to reply. If the pains continue / get worse over the weekend will def go to A&E! will also ask to see Haemotologist via Docs before stopping clexane.

apologies for typos, the letters have worn off my keyboard!

uh, yes, people can still get DVT whilest on clexane, but as mentioned if limited to lower leg, clexane may be all you need.

Why are you still on clexane though, if you have given birth could they not start you on warfarin (tablets rather then injections)

May sound strange but I got used to the injections and had no side effects so decided to stick with them.
