Planned amputation - How do I help?

My bestie is having an awful time, after being in induced coma for a couple of weeks she is back with us but one foot needs amputation, the other they will try to save.

I don't know what to do. I will likely start a fundraising campaign to help but if anyone here has fam or has been in same situ and can give some pointers it would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

What exactly do you want to fundraise for? Fundraisers with a clear goal usually do better. Why not wait to see what prosthetics etc she is able to have and if she needs something better that has to be paid for do your fundraiser then?

No advice but read your other thread. Sounds very difficult. As pp said I think it’s best to wait and see what happens before thinking about fundraising

I would fundraiser now, she's obviously going to spend a lot of time in hospital / out of work so I would happily donate to make the time less stressful for her financially so she can concentrate on healing.

Fundraise for what? I would say offer practical support where possible.

As I said in your other thread I have been in exactly the same place so I know just about all there is to know on this topic.
There is light at the end of the tunnel but it's a very long road.

There are other costs ramping up, work/bills have been affected. I won't go into too much detail but her partner has had to 'close for now' his new business. I have to admit I had assumed without much research that there maybe better prosthetics available privately than via NHS.

Hospital are getting her stronger before the amputation which maybe next week now.

@Finnyhaddock Thank you. Am very glad she is alive. I've just joined the limbless association as a friend for more info. The rest of her diagnosis still up in the air.
