Can being slightly anaemic and borderline thyroid make you overeat?

I have successfully managed 5:2 in the past and I've never been a huge eater. However recently I just start feeling weak and get the feeling I need to eat. So I eat. It doesn't really take the feeling away fully but maybe does temporarily hence it's my first go to.

Recently had some bloods and they've prescribed iron tablets and said it's not massively low but could be contributing to fatigue. They also mentioned "sub clinical" thyroid issue. Got a consultant appt in Jan to discuss further.

I'm posting because I'm putting on weight and now wondering if there is a "real" reason why I'm feeling this way or whether it is just simply willpower?

I think the thyroid can be a reason.

My iron levels are 31 and I’ve been eating constantly ! I did read somewhere it’s related but anecdotal from me

I've been diagnosed subclinical too.
My symptoms are fatigue, carpal tunnel, aching muscles & weight gain
I've been taking 50mcg of thyroxine for just over a week and am already starting to feel a bit better.

Thank you for sharing. Was the consultant quite happy to trial thyroxine? Have you noticed any changes to your appetite?
