after raving reviews on mumsnet of this bath treatment, i'm going to give it a go with ds (5) who has mild eczema, but is for some reason getting worse. I think its with this cold weather. His eyelids are particularly affected, which is something new. His eczema is around the creases of his arms and backs of legs.

Today I went to holland and barrat and GNC. I bought dead sea salt and natural harvest coarse sea salt. which one should i use?

How long should he stay in the bath? Can he wash his face with it? And how often should i bath?

Not sure but would have thought salty water would sting eyes unless very diluted. I had a bad dead sea experience.

we put the oatmeal in a sock and tie it to the tap so the water flows through it.

We throw a handful of either type of salt into the water and swish to dissolve.

DS2 stays in the bath no longer than 10 minutes and has luke warm water, we wash his face with the salty water.

When his eczema was appaling, weepy and infected, he had a bath twice a day, when it's moderate he has a bath every other day because i'm lazy!!

good luck

The water was very salty and hurt like hell everytime your eyes got splashed..but am sure other wiser types will know exactly how diluted it must be..I was just worried because you said his eyelids were affected. Better advice will follow I am sure.
