Failed Colonoscopy?

Had a failed colonoscopy due to inadequate bowel prep of the right colon. They were able to spot a sessile polyp which has been tatooed for removal.
I drank all of the movieprep and followed the instructions completely re diet beforehand.
Does anyone know if this happens much? I have to go back in after doubling the moviprep and following a low fibre diet for 7 days.
I was very constipated before taking the moviprep because my diet is usually quite high in fibre and wondered whether this may have contributed to the failed proccedure. The doctor also noted it was a difficult intubation and had to change to a paediatric scope, also had quite a lot of sedation but was still very painful, also have a history of bowel adhesions.
Any advice would really be appreciated.

Do you usually get intubated for a colonoscopy?I just had sedation for my last one however it was v v sore compared to previous one, I felt the biopsies too.
I would start the low resolution diet now so you’re ready for the prep I didn’t eat for 2 days prior then vomited the prep 3 times and bowels were clear however had loads of pain afterwards compared to previous times. Did you drink plenty with the moviprep? That helps - which is foul i use a straw but this time I just puked 🤮 was really horrid.

I hope the next one goes better for you, it’s not a nice thing to have done

Thanks Iam, never had a colonoscopy before and what a treat it was!!
Did drink loads of water(about 2 litres) whilst I was taking both doses of the movieprep. Dreading doing it all again tbh

I had 2 colonics before mine so didn’t need the laxative. It went well and the doctor could see what he needed to. But you have to find someone who really knows what they are doing.

My husband had to have the procedure under general anesthetic in the end, he couldn't tolerate it with sedation plus a bad reaction to the first lot of preparation. The last time he had a ct scan.
