Panic post really
I'm awaiting a bowel related diagnosis due to pain and urgency.
I'm in a panic now though as I really need to learn to drive for work and lesson availability has come up (20week waiting list normally)
But I'm so anxious being on a lesson for an hour whilst I'm having these issues.

Any tips on coping.

I have recently been diagnosed with microscopic colitis and I feel your pain! Before my treatment, I was very anxious to go anywhere for a length of time.

It really depends on how often you are at the moment. Have you tried imodium? Does it help?

Realistically I think I will be fine I travel around 40mins to work (with public bathrooms closely noted 🤦‍♀️)
I think it's just getting out of that vicious anxiety cycle of "what if I need to go" and being unfamiliar with the area.
I think I might just need to bite the bullet and tell the instructor😳

I have ulcerative colitis. I have experience hundreds and hundreds of instances of pain and urgency.

I know how it feels to worry about it.

I worked as a lawyer and did hearings etc. if I was flared up I did try to tell the person running the hearing that if I asked for a break in the proceedings it was for good reason. They were usually understanding.

Don't be afraid to tell people. The stigma is gradually going.

The other thing is to take a change of clothes, plastic bags and wipes just in case. I have only had a true accident about 3 times in 35 years but having those things handy would really help.

Good luck OP. If it is IBD there are much better treatments now. In fact, I am just heading to the infusion center for my Entyvio. It has kept me in remission for 3 years. (Touch wood!)
