dd's face is red raw, what can i put on it to help her?

dd's face is red raw from all the wiping her nose and her runny nose getting every where bless her. is there anything i can put on her face as its irritating her? thanks xxx

Have you tried E45 or similar?

What about aqueous cream?

havent tried anything yet as i dont know if anything will make it worse. do have e45 cream somewhere. shes having a nap at the moment so will have a hunt round

E45 always makes my own skin worse which is why I use aqueous cream, there diesnt seem to be much in it that can make it flare up.

aqueous cream has no lanolin so is apparently better than e45 for the face area. or bach's rescue remedy

im not sure if i have aqueous cream. i did have some for excema, but i dont know if i still have it. would that be alright?

Yes, E45 does seem to irritate ds2's skin, but is fine with the others. At a pinch, would Sudocrem do for now? Do you have any of that?

i do have sudocream, and did think about it, but wasnt sure if thats too strong for her face

sudocrem is fine on faces, tb. Have you got any Vaseline too? It does a great job of screening the skin - I used to put sudocrem on, and then Vaseline on top a bit later, to protect it from the next few wipes. It looks lovely but does help a bit.

when i asked the pharmacist for something useful for dry/flaky skin on my face when PG (E45 wasn't doing the job) he recommended boots own brand cucumber facial moisturiser. V cheap - bout 1.50 a tub and it worked pretty well for me

I would go for vaseline too as it stops the skin from getting wet and avoids the skin being more irritated!

Just had this problem with dd - used Kamillosan or Calendula cream.

In Australia we have a cream called Bepanthen made by Roche... I absolutely swear by it for rashes, mild eczema & for sore skin from runny noses.
Its a thick cream that acts as a water barrier, has vitamins & other healing ingredients. Its also an antiseptic.

thanks for the latest posts. dd still has a red face. think its gotten worse today. have been using sudocream as i havent been able to get to shops, but will be going tomorrow morning as dd's nose isnt so runny and think a bit of fresh air will do her some good as long as she is wrapped up warm. Will see what i can get, and have wrote down your suggestions. someone suggested to me savlon cream, is that any good?

Savlon cream is ok but try to get hold of the bepanthen, its much better and not so tough on delicate skin.

aqueous cream is just the thing I have been using it on my boys face - very dry, red and raw. Just ask the pharmacist or a doctor will prescribe it
