can a baby be teething

even though you cant see or feel teeth on his gums???

Yes, babies can be born with teeth aswell, ds had his first teeth at 12 weeks, they actually broke through.

bumbly, my ds showed every sign of teething - except actual teeth - for THREE months before the suckers turned up!

YES!
dd teething for last 2 months but still no teeth - today seems particularly bad - we've been through 3 bibs and 2 babygros as she's pushing her fingers so far into her mouth she pukes!
We use Bonjela, Ashton & Parsons powders, Boots teething granules................if anyone has a miracle cure let me know

yes he is really crying with pain and i know something is not right!! i am assuming teething as he is sticking 3 fingers in mouth all the time

he is gagging with all the saliva

do others find baby wakes up choking from XSsaliva at night???

thought it was cold but now i think it is saliva from teeth

sounds like it to me!
dd would possett up lots of saliva - until she found the finger down the throat full on vomit trick - sigh!
Gone are the days of taking your baby out in a cute top - dd always has a huge (and normally soaking wet!) bib on top of it!

Yes it sounds like it, I told a friend who was a nanny, that I though ds was teething at 4 weeks old. She told me not to be so silly, babies don't teeth at that age. She nearly choked when I showed her his teeth 6 weeks later!

You could try a cold teething ring as a finger replacement, but you'd have to hold it there.

My DD liked to chew my curled pinky finger, seemed to give her a little relief.

MATCT, I tried all of those things too and, like you, had limited success. When she started drawing her legs up in pain, I gave her Calpol.

DD also got more nappy rash when cutting teeth btw, just in case you find same thing - have the sudocrem/bepanthen at the ready!

I hope he gets some relief soon, poor wee mite.
