Focal aware seizures

On Sunday I had a really strange experience. It was like I was remembering a dream but couldn’t quite picture it, I had a weird feeling of deja vu and an intense wave of feeling scared/unsettled before my whole body went tingly. It was all over in about 30 seconds.

I didn’t think much of it but it happened again a couple of times last night, yesterday and this morning. I’ve phoned my GP and I’m awaiting a call back.

Google tells me this sounds like focal aware seizures which are commonly linked to brain tumours and I’m now terrified Sad I have 4 DC and my youngest is only 3 months.

Has anyone had these and NOT had a brain tumour?

I had a seizure - and mri and ct scan came back normal - so not tumour , so if it happens again I think they will diaagnose it as epilepsy.

I was extremely worried abt it - so can understand. When u have an appt ask to be referred to a neurologist and insist on a ct scan, mri and eeg x

My GP was very dismissive and said if it happens again to come in to have my blood pressure checked. It’s happened 3 times today so I’ll ring up tomorrow but I’m finding it really concerning

A close friend of mine had these 'absences' and was diagnosed with mild epilepsy, Did you have an odd aroma beforehand?. Treated with a v low dose of epilepsy medication I believe which has been very effective.

And there lies the problem with De Google.
Step back from self diagnosing Flowers

I know Dr Google is a slippery slope but the descriptions of what I’m experiencing match the descriptions of focal aware seizures to a T.

I had a week of no further episodes and I’ve had 3 this evening and feel so scared! I’m awaiting blood tests at my GP but I’m planning to ring back on Monday to let them know they’ve started happening again.

It’s like I can see images in my mind that aren’t relative to anything I’m thinking or doing, a really unpleasant and overwhelming deja vu feeling and a pain in my stomach. All lasting less than a minute.

I know this is an old post @FrankieBergstein but did you find out anything? Having similar and worried x

My father was recently diagnosed with these. No tumour.
He is in his 70s though and the neurologist suggested that his were age related.
It is a form of epilepsy. Can be treated with medication. You need to get referred to a neurologist.
