MMR after effects?

DD2 is a nightmare to get to bed these days. She says she wants to go u p stairs, cleans her teeth, but as soon as you go to put her into her cot (16 mths old) she screams, and screams. She seems to be getting worse. I think she is teething at the mo, but she is not usually this bad,. It was 40 mins last night, poor dd1 was beside herself.
Could she be feeling poorly after having her MMR jab, she had it 2 1/2 weeks ago. She seems fine most of the time, but it's driving me mad. She also gets up at 5:15, to 5:30 most days too, which is about right when she is teething unfortunatley.

I guess I just want to know, did your lo's go thru anything after the MMR????
I can't remember with DD1 but then she was an 8til8, really great sleeper.

My dd had her MMR jab at 16 months and was crying a lot at night for a month. She also was teething at the same time but I think the MMR jab effected her for around a month.
So it should get better soon, fingers crossed for you!

Oh thank you. What did you do for her?? Did you give her medicine or just shush a lot?? Trouble is I hate the thought of staying in the room til they fall asleep as it is a terrible habit to get into, but if she is suffering then I hate to leave her to cry.

Oh the dillema's of parenthood and trying to do the right thing

It is only when she goes to bed btw, once asleep she is fine and generally sleep all the way thru, she just gets up bloody early!!

We were on holidays for 2 weeks during that time and sleeping in one room and it was NOT relaxing... and she also woke up early and during the night. Normally not the best of sleepers but for a month after the MMR it was worse. The teething on top and she was quite very upset for a while, poor thing. We gave her 'Teetha' which sometimes seems to calm her down a bit but not always. We also bought some Calpol for the pain but didn't give it too often.
It's awful but I hope it will pass for your dd. Someone else told me that it took a month after the MMR for their child to get back to normal...

Good grief, really??

Dont remember anything like this with dd1. But then she was a better sleeper all round, and had a dummy.
Hmm teetha's I like those, I find them good, but have run out. have been using anbesol, but then that doesn't calm, in fact she is not keen on it.

DS had MMR 2 weeks ago and has been a bit miserable & off food. He's also teething and I think this has been the prob rather than the mmr, 4 molars are all sprouting at once!
He is also an early riser, always 5am or 5:30am - its exhausting so I feel for you.

My DS (15 months) has his MMR 8 days ago, ok for the first few days but since then he has developed a terrible 'cold', barking productive cough and today has developed eye infections in both eyes. He is off his food and has a high temperature.

The gp has advised giving him calpol/nurofen alternately which I am reluctantly doing as its the only way to ease his distress poor little mite. Am not knocking the MMR jab as this preferable to the real thing but I wish they would warn you a bit. Am sure this is either a reaction to the MMR or it has knocked his immune system and it has let the cold run rampant!

Bah flaming humbug!!!

Hmm, DD2 got a stinking cold too. Poor little buggers hey??
Still screaming at bedtime, but sleeps thru til very early wake up.

It wont last forever
