Pain in front of thigh - any ideas ?

Long running injury here !

June 20, was running and had agonising pain in my lower abdomen, spasms, happened another time and I haven't run since. Got a bit sore on and off when I did other exercise eg yoga

In spring 21 I had really sore quad in the same side. It actually flared up during a period from hell (for which I passed out with the pain for first time ever - have since had investigation and d&c and all fine) and never went away

Saw a physio eventually May 21 who said psoas issue and said the running pain was caused my muscle spasms and now the muscle pain was radiating down my leg. Suggested stretches . Sports massage relieved the pain entirely but only for 2 hours . But until then I hadn't realised how tense the pain made me feel.

I've been doing alternate yoga and Pilates for 20 mins a day since . If I miss a day , I'm in agony. If I do it it is manageable ache. I can feel the sore muscle from my hip down my thigh but I can't seem to release the sore bit of my thigh which is the lower part.

In august went on a city break and the walking left me in agony (incidentally also had a pile flare up for first time ever which was also agony!).

Now the pain is constant in my thigh. I have booked to see another physio in desperation.

I feel really old and stiff and am sad that I can't walk properly as all my family enjoy walking! I've actually slowed down a bit as have a new rescue dog who won't walk far or fast so my fast walks around countryside have stopped anyway - not sure if this is contributing.

Has anyone had this and how can I fix this leg? I'm more flexible now after stretches, but the ache/pain is constant.

If massage helped you could try trigger point release? Does the sore area ever make you feel like you want to press into it? If it does then trigger point of hip flexors/psoas release should work. The physio will be able to show you or you can google it. If should feel like a ‘nice pain’ when pressed. If it feels horrible then stop.
I have found that it’s common to tense that area without really meaning to, so just check in when you’re sitting that it’s properly relaxing rather than held in tension.

@MrsDoraDumble thank you I'll ask the physio. Pressing on my thigh helps so it may well help.
