Best moisturiser for eczema

I've very itchy skin, getting progressively worse over the last 12 months, at the moment it's on hips, bum, lower back and front of thighs. I've tried different moisturisers and not getting much relief from dryness. Obviously I've my steroid cream for the rash but I need a really good moisturiser.

Can anyone recommend one that works for them?

Aveeno is the all round best.

Udder cream is also good but ds1, who suffers with horrid eczema especially during winter days it can be a bit stingy

Oilatum is the best!

Aveeno is a good one, we use Epaderm on the kids at the moment though. I'd stick with something along those lines rather than fancy scented body lotions or anything.

Also, lotions are lighter than creams which are lighter than ointments. So if you're using lotions at the moment then try stepping up to a cream, or if you're using a cream then try an ointment.

Thanks everyone, which Aveeno one do you recommend? I remember using them years ago but didn't find them great. I think I used the blue one

We tried e45, oilatum, aveno, and a few others before having epaderm recommended by a friend. It's a bit pricey, £12.50 for a big pump bottle, but it lasts ages and works wonders. My boys skin was really bad, and it cleared it up in around a week. Now his skin is lovely and soft and he has no red angry patches at all.

Just the standard Aveeno Cream.

Aveeno have a dermexa range which is for eczema.

. I've got eczema in the same areas as you plus arms. So itchy. Using Oilatum too

Agree with Aveeno, but after a while it didn't work so well for my DS. Switched to Doublebase which has been excellent.

I've had eczema all my life . I've been prescribed all different steroids , all the creams or ointments and also purchased all the ' wonder creams ' ( Child's Farm , Moo Goo to name a few ) My conclusion is you have to find the one that suits you , so it's trial and error .

Eucerin 10% urea lotion is the best one I've used. Although they've recently changed the formula and it's not as thick as it used to be. It does get rid of my red patches. I also use Diprobase on my less eczema-y skin.
