Worried sick this is Melanoma please help

I have had a hard pea sized lump on my upper chest area for about a year now. It's slowly got bigger.
It feels firm to touch and like a hard pea under my skin.
I saw my GP about it a few months ago and he took a look by eye and said it was a Dermatofibroma. I looked online and it does look like that.
But I can't help but worry it's something sinister and after googling I've worried myself sick it's Nodular Melanoma 😫

I'm awaiting an appointment with a private Dermatologist but I am beside myself with worry in the meantime.

Looks exactly like mine. Won't led me add a pic but I did a thread in 2018 on it and the pic was in there, I will try to find it. Dermatologist said dermatofibroma and I'm still here three years on (and so is it!)

i have had mm and to be honest it doesn't represent what i would expect to see, ie the colour and lack of pigmentation for example. Do get it checked if worried though
