Have forgotten about this but recently read a story about it

My boys missed getting it at school

Is it something they should get now?

There's no history of cancers in family but i know that doesn't count for much

Id pay for it, but dont know much about it

Any advice welcome

I’m not an expert but does the vaccine need to be administered before any sexual contact - are your boys too old?

It’s £470 privately. I’ve just been looking it up for myself! All the usual pharmacy chains seem to offer it.

If they're already sexually active there's unlikely to be any point.

The latest version of the jab protects against 9 strains. Unlikely anyone would already have been infected by all 9.

You can have it someone the NHS up until your 25th birthday and as Rach says, yes I’d think very much worth it.

Not sure if it's correct that you can get it on the NHS until 25.

This is from the same NHS page:

"A catch-up programme for older boys is not necessary as evidence suggests they're already benefiting greatly from the indirect protection (known as herd protection) that's built up from 10 years of the girls' HPV vaccination programme."

I think the only way they can get this on the NHS is if they are (or claim to be) "men who have sex with men". Again words taken from the NHS website.

Fair enough then Smile nice to see the science has moved forward.
