My pinkie and ring finger on my left hand have been numb/tingly for about a week. Half of my palm (the side these fingers are on) is also completely numb and my arm feels slightly weak.

Not painful but having problems gripping/opening jars etc?

Any idea what this could be?

Sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome. (Are you pregnant?)

It's what happens when the ?median nerve in the wrist gets pinched or squeezed. It can be sorted with physio and some people may wear hand splints for a while. If it's very bad you can have surgery to relieve the pressure on the nerve.

Go and see your GP to be sure.

If you can, go see a physio. It's pressure on a nerve somewhere. Possibly carpal tunnel syndrome or something spinal.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

(am not a health professional, btw!)

Oh I had exactly that -- and posted exactly your query. It sounds like a trapped ulnar nerve. Worsened by too much computer use, esp. if you sit with your elbow crooked and resting on the table. Mine got a lot better immediately when I got into the habit of keeping my arm straight whenever possible. I still went to doc and was advised that ultimatley it is all down to flexibility and correct posture at the top of the spine, and I was given all of the standard helpful advice about correct posture at computer.

Thank you lovely people - puts my mind at ease

Funnily enough AWorminaManger I always sit with my elbow resting on the table - hadn't noticed until you pointed it out!!
