My skin is sore under one breast particularly and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations of what might help please?

Sore Underboob, any advice please?

Sudocreme. My go to for pretty much any skin condition.

DramaAlpaca · 26/10/2021 23:10

Another vote for Sudocrem.

HopelessSinking · 26/10/2021 23:10

Ah! Good idea, thank you!
Not sure if I have any but will go look, normal moisturiser is not cutting it and I've tried talc too but it's so sore.

Do you have any vaseline?

pickingdaisies · 26/10/2021 23:13

Is it where your bra rubs? Try surcare for washing your clothes, it might be your washing detergent that's causing it.

coronabeer · 26/10/2021 23:16

Hard to tell from the photo, but is your skin a bit shiny or itchy? If so, could be fungal - daktarin spray would give instant relief and clear it up in 2-3 days.

Charlieandlola · 26/10/2021 23:18

Timodine cream from gp or canesten

Tunnocksmallow · 26/10/2021 23:23

When I get this, I give it a good wash with a clean cloth. Then make sure it is really really dry. Pat, don’t rub.
Then I apply canasten cream to it. Normally eases it in a few days. It’s where it gets hot and sweaty, bacteria grows and then your bra rubs. Gets so sore.

mrsfollowill · 26/10/2021 23:23

Can you go without a bra for a day or two? I get this but find letting the air get to it helps a lot as well as washing with gentle soap just once a day and patting dry rather than rubbing.

NotMeNoNo · 26/10/2021 23:33

I had this for months. In the end I decided to treat it like nappy rash and bought Metamium and Sudocrem. Applying the Sudocrem like a barrier cream every morning, plus an uplifting bra that didn't let a crease form under the boob IYSWIM, beat it in the end.

HopelessSinking · 26/10/2021 23:35

Loads of great advice, thank you all.

I've found some Metatium and am trying that tonight in place of sudocrem but might get some canistan tomorrow and will use the other tips about no bra when possible and patting dry.
Tbh, I think my weight is the issue, put on so much recently as life has been tough. Need to work hard to lose it and reduce the boobs! Blush

Metanium will take the soreness away - I remember using it on DS as a baby and it's great Smile - and the weight thing - me too! I work from home these days and am usually alone for most of the day so feel OK going without bra on occasion and it really helps. Don't clag it up with talc when sore I think that can make it worse. Good luck!

BaronessKareness · 26/10/2021 23:48

I get this every summer, OP, due to heavy boobs and sweating.
Wash v gently and dry thoroughly, then I lie at the end of my bed (feet towards the pillows) so my boobs hang away from my chest and let them properly “air-dry” Follow up with Canesten or any anti-fungal cream like Daktarin. Go without a bra if possible and you’ll see a difference by the next day. Try not to get too hot as it makes it feel worse x

ProfYaffle · 26/10/2021 23:52

If it's fungal Tea tree soap is great at preventing it.

SaltedCaramelHC · 26/10/2021 23:54

i get this whenever I try one of the 'comfort' type bras that don't have wires or anything. I usually use Canestan or daktarin or something, and then go back to a wired bra - not necessarily the most comfortable, but it does stop the 'boob crease' that even the most supportive of the non-wired bras seem to cause.

starfishmummy · 27/10/2021 00:01

If its sore pop an old fashioned handkerchief or piece of medical gauze or similar underneath your bra band on that side. Something absorbent.

Nat6999 · 27/10/2021 00:08

I have this & use Scholl athletes foot spray on it & then mix Canestan cream & mitchum gel deodorant to stop the sweating & keep it dry. Works for any kind of sweat rash.

MrsMoastyToasty · 27/10/2021 00:09

Athletes foot spray or powder to reduce any fungal infection. Once it's cleared up use deodorant daily.

Blueberrycreampie · 27/10/2021 00:10

@MrsFin

Do you have any vaseline?
Yes Vaseline works for this!
TyneTeas · 27/10/2021 00:26

Sudacrem and cloth (like a muslin or t shirt or tea towel or flannel) rolled up between underboob and bra whenever possible and changed regularly until back to normal

Anordinarymum · 27/10/2021 01:43

I get this. I have to shower more often and make sure the area is thoroughly dry afterwards before putting my bra on. It's worse when I wear an underwired bra as they fit tightly underneath and it's worse in summer.
Talc does not help. It makes it worse.

I apply Betnovate cream when it gets hard to manage. Sometimes I put a hanky under the boobs and don't wear a bra.
I would love a reduction as this would be the only real solution

Keepitonthedownlow · 27/10/2021 01:45

I have this too... need a decent bra I think

SpookyPumpkinPants · 27/10/2021 01:53

Rinse well when in the shower, then pat dry and lay on the bed (if possible) to completely air dry. I find E46 or germoline cream works well (I think any kind of proper cream works, but not ordinary body lotion type stuff. I'm better if I wear a bra and I only wear it once before washing it.

Hope it goes soon

HopelessSinking · 27/10/2021 09:16

Thank you all for your help, really appreciated! Halloween Smile

Also the fabric your bra is made of can make a difference. I find my molkes are gentler on the underboob than my bras made of ordinary bra material
