Is this normal? Hard bit in abdomen and pain when pressed

I'm 48 and I know I have fibroids, just for background.

I have a very hard bit above my pubic bone, feels like an apple sitting in my insides. The right side hurts if I press on it.

Does everyone have this? Is it just a normal part of the body? Is it something to do with fibroids (which weren't big enough to worry the doctor two years ago when I had a scan)? Sorry for complete ignorance.

Otherwise I'm fit and healthy.

Me again. Still waiting for a consultant appointment and likely to be waiting for most of the rest of the year as the delay is still 41 weeks Sad

But the fibroid feels noticeably bigger. Really noticeably, like from an orange to a large grapefruit. Dr Google says that the pill can cause fibroids to grow so what do I do now? Will going back to the GP help if waiting times are so dire? Do I stop taking the pill even though it's made periods more manageable? How big is this thing going to get before I start having to wear maternity clothes???

Using this as a diary now.

27 October 2021: requested GP appt
11 November 2021: telephone appt with GP
17 November 2022: F2F appt with GP
10 December 2021: Ultrasound
24 December 2021: On waiting list for outpatient gynae appt
11 February 2022: requested GP appt
28 February 2022: next available telephone GP appt.

I begged the receptionist for a F2F appointment but apparently there is absolutely no mechanism for a F2F appt before a telephone one even though it's impossible for them to check how big this fucker has gotten over the fucking phone.

Now drafting a complaint. Which has to be by letter because they don't do email.

When a telephone consultation has indicated that I needed to be seen, I was asked to come in that afternoon once, and a week later another time. I can understand that the whole situation is awful to deal with, but the telephone triage may not be worth a complaint.

I appreciate that @SparklingLime but I'm also trying to hold down a FT job, run after kids etc. I can't always drop everything and attend an appointment at a moment's notice. I frequently work away from home for e.g. and while I have an understanding boss I also have a team that depends on me.

Don't waste your time, all GPs are triaged now, have your telephone appt and insist they see you.

Really hope you get it sorted soonFlowers

I appreciate that @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor, my concern is that there is no mechanism for a patient to have their request for a F2F appointment considered by a medic (as opposed to a receptionist). Even if the receptionist had said "I will ask a doctor to assess your request for a F2F appt" that would be something. It was just "computer says no".

FFS name change fail.
