Hi all, I’m new and very anxious. Just looking for some advice for anyone who has been through a similar thing.

I had infected gall bladder with a count of 257 on the CRP scale. Spent five nights in hospital on IV antibiotics to get it under control. Then got asked to attend elective surgery the following Friday (8th October). The gall bladder was so infected it stuck to everything and they could only remove part of it.

Sealed back up & out of surgery, I just knew something was wrong. Had further inflammation and was given emergency surgery on the 10th October.

A sub total cholecystectomy was done where they managed to remove most of the gall bladder apart from a bit of it which is still stuck to my liver. I then spent a further five nights in hospital on IV antibiotics until I was allowed to go home. I have been at home for a week and I still have a pain in my side when I breathe deep. Still feeling very shaky and not me.

I’ve lost 2.5 stone since April when it was first diagnosed as gallstones.

In a nutshell does it take a longer time to recover and am I trying too hard. I’m sleeping, eating and resting as well as short walks so I’m doing everything I think I should be doing. I just finished the antibiotics (tablet form) yesterday. Still have dioreah & generally feeling unwell and scared that something is wrong but this could be anxiety.

For those that are going in for the op - I’m in the 1%. I saw many people come in for the op and go home that night or the next day so please don’t let my post panic you lots of very happy people after the op! Just wishing I was one of them.

Thanks All x
