hello, advice needed please. dh has always been a hardcore snorer, but i used to be a heavy sleeper. since dd came along i've become a light sleeper and now i understand how people can get divorced over this issue.

do the nose strips work or are they just a con? does anyone know any other tips? btw he eats generally healthily, was a smoker before dd, and is a bit overweight, but not hugely.

any help thanked a lot

they don't work for me but might for your dh.

My friends dh had his tonsils or adenoids or something out and he stopped snoring.

Peg clipped to his back to keep him on his side?

Sleep in the babies room!
I don't think i'd still be married if i didn't have a spare bed in DS's bedroom.

I sympathise completely with you.

I have been known to punch, pinch and swear at DH in the night, even tell him I'm moving out! And usually I'm so mild mannered....

does he eat/drink a lot of dairy? my DH does and i'm sure that makes him a heavy snorer.

Get him along to the GP, and ask for a sleep clinic referal. I put up with DHs terrible snoring for 9.5 years until we had DS and I couldn't cope with being woken up by DS and then lying there listening to DHs snoring. Turned out he had very severe sleep apnoea and stops breathing 85 times an hour - his blood pressure was sky high in the morning because of this. He's now on CPAP and my nights are silent !
There are loads of things that can be done about snoring, so you don't have to suffer.
BTW - collar size is the best indicator of whether someone will have sleep apnoea, not their overall weight - DH still did it when very thin, but his neck was just about the same size.

I just roll dh over onto his side

My DH tried the nose strips but they didn't work, so I now resort to earplugs. They block out the snoring, but for some reason I hear every sound my DS's make!
