I have been feeling ill on and off for a few months now. I usually get a headache and then vomit for a while.
the last couple times in happened it started in the middle of the night. i wake up with my heart POUNDING, just going a mile a minute. but i don't feel sick. then within a couple of hours I get very loose poos and start vomiting (or feel like vomiting anyway)

I went to the docotr about this a while back and she said that it was because of the Depo injections (even though she herself said that progesterone doesn't make you sick like this) but i had the injection in june and not had one sicne.

i'm at my wits end. my poor DH keeps having to take time off to watch DS (I;m a SAHM) becuase i'm spending hours sitting on the loo while hanging over the tub being sick.

i'm just so sick of going to the DR and being told that there's nothing wrong wtih me. and being made to feel like i'm wasting their valuable time.

This sounds a lot like the migraines I used to have (I was on the combined pill at the time). The dual-ended clear outs were truly awful. I remember phoning dh, and he came home fast when he realised that I couldn't speak coherently either, and had very young ds and dd unattended downstairs. He found me semi-conscious on the bathroom floor with my head pressed against the nice, cold sink pedestal.

I was given medication to take, but only got some relief after I stopped taking the pill. I was told that Depo provera would be suitable for me, and (I quote) "it's the oestradiol that can cause migraines, not progestogen".

I wasn't keen on being ill for 3 months if it went wrong, and so they gave me the mini pill to try for a month first. I still had migraines on that. I have now got the mirena IUS which is no good either. I am looking at hormone free alternatives. Several members of my family have the same problem.

I know that you're busy, but try to keep a note of what you're eating/drinking, what you're doing, if you notice any signs that may help you to catch it before it starts and so on. It might help you to identify something else that may be triggering this. Failing that, could you try a different form of contraception? When are you due your next Depo shot?

deepbreath - thank you. I was starting to think i was nuts and it was all in my head. think i might go to the GP (again) to see if I can't get this sorted somehow.
i think, like you, that I need to look at a hormone free contraceptive.
I stopped taking the depo shot. was on the minipill. am now on the combined pill.
I've had this with all forms. what a PITA.
