Embarrassing poo issue

Embarrasssed · 20/10/2021 07:27

So I go to the loo and poo. Takes a lot of wiping but tissue is clean after four or five goes. I take my time and make sure I'm completely finished.

Go to the loo for a wee later and wipe as usual and theres poo on tissue! Like I didn't wipe before...

This happens two or three times after my initial poo throughout the day... Sometimes hours later.

I always wipe front to back, last wipe from a standing position.

No pain or blood. Sometimes can feel a bit uncomfortable like I need to wipe again sometime after.

Don't drink alot of coffee, eats lots of fruit and veg although may need to up my fiber.

What's going on? I've had this probably a year and it's really bothering me now.

Does anyone else experience this?

it would be worth seeing your GP sometimes you can have a problem where due to a split your poo goes into your vagina but more than likely you find that due to the amount you need some wet wipes to clean yourself after the loo paper. at times I have needed to hop into the shower

turnthebiglightoff · 20/10/2021 08:52

My guess is a haemorrhoid.

GoodnightGrandma · 20/10/2021 08:57

I have this.
I do a poo, wipe clean, might use a wet wipe or have a shower, then find I’m ‘dirty’ later. I call it ‘poo crumbles’ !
And the reason I think I get it is because I have a pile left over from when I had my first child. The pile is always there, if I have diarrhoea or poo twice in a day, it gets itchy and I need to use cream.
I was watching a Tik Tok the other day which said we all have internal piles, they keep the poo in, but we only know about them when they cause issues.

DandyHighwayWoman · 20/10/2021 09:02

Try ‘Wype’ liquid bum cleaner it’s really good.

User527294627 · 20/10/2021 09:19

Sounds like piles. You can use anusol to shrink them.

In the meantime, I’d also recommend wype. I’ve always been grossed out by just using tissue to wipe (you wouldn’t be ok with that anywhere else on your body!) and wype makes me feel properly clean. It’s all natural, mostly water, and more environmentally friendly than wet wipes.

TheQueef · 20/10/2021 09:25

Do you have anything poking out or is your anus flat and normal?
Skin tags as well as piles can be hard to clean.
See GP but as an immediate solution try wet washing (old school jug or a portable bidet thing) it's the only way I'm able to feel 'doesn't use a cleansing lotion or something soap free though.

Ah you guys are awesome. Thank you so much for your replies!

Nothing there as such, can't feel anything that shouldn't be there. No pain or bleeding...

Will try wypes and see my GP Blush

Wype is a gel you put on toilet paper to make it moist. More environmentally friendly than wet wipes

Comfortingpigeon · 20/10/2021 10:34

I have piles (thanks, motherhood!) But tend to only get this if my bowels are on the blink and the poo is a certain texture. When I'm not having an ibs attack, it dries up and i'm clean. Coffee was my ibs trigger, but it's different for everyone.

EmmalineC · 20/10/2021 10:34

If you're having anal leakage, it might be worth a chat with your GP.

Knockoneofftheshelftowin · 20/10/2021 13:34

I have this and wanted to ask about it but didn't know how to word it!!

I don't have piles though sometimes I can be itchy. I just thought it was like a slight leakage?

TheQueef · 20/10/2021 13:37

Sometimes there can be a little pocket on the inside (forgot the name) and it can work a bit like a dogs anal glands i.e. a firm poo will empty it each time but loose poo can collect there and leak out.

HPmagic · 20/10/2021 14:57

Op I think this is completely normal, your bum crack is not smooth there is crevices etc which you may miss each time.

sadie9 · 20/10/2021 15:26

Sometimes if you have a pelvic organ prolapse like a bladder prolapse this can happen. Do you ever have heaviness in the pelvic area at the end of the day or just before a bowel movement?
Do you ever get 'incomplete emptying' which is when you stand up after a poo you might feel you need to go again or that something else is there? If you had a slight rectocele it can cause a small pouch or dip just below the rectum so that some stool goes in there and then when you stand up there is a little bit that might come out.
Doing pelvic floor exercises may help your issue but it will take a few months to see results. You can also seek advice from a specialist women's physiotherapist who deals with pelvic floor issues.

Honestly thank you so much for your replies! I'm pleased it's helped others too! Grin

No leakage, but it may start and I won't now freak out about it!

Brought myself a little bottle of wype and have a (Tel ) appointment with the GP for November.

Have you had kids? I sometimes get this. I have piles & a fissure ( think that's what it's called) Definitely go down the wipes route. The joys of childbirth, forceps & stitches Confused

Embarrasssed · 20/10/2021 17:40

No previous kids but am currently pregnant. 20 wks. (Trying not to think too much about the ripping, tearing, prolapsing part of being pregnant if I'm honest!) This started way before though- maybe a year or two ago. Got worse recently.

Currently doing pelvic floor exercises 4 times a day (squeezey app is great!).

Did think of prolapse but nothing feels out of place and can't think of why it may have prolapsed. No heaviness other than the feeling of needing a poo.
No urgency, can hold it if needed.
I always stand for my last wipe which is clean.

What can the Dr actually do? Is there a chance they will send me for endoscopy?

How do the haemorrhoid creams work if you don't have anything showing on the outside? Do you stick it up in there?!

Update pls ? X

S22 · 14/12/2024 18:24

??

TheOliveFinch · 14/12/2024 21:22

This can be due to a rectocele which can happen after childbirth

XmasSocks · 15/12/2024 02:42

Baby wipes after wiping with tissue as you can ‘get in there’ and give it much more of a better clean that you can with tissue

(Sensitive baby ones are best)
