Right so I noticed a very small about 0.5 mm blood clot this morning on my right tonsil , phoned surgeon centre and they said this is normal if I ate something etc. I went to hospital out of worry and they said I’d need to have an I’ve with antibiotics . They jabbed me with blood tests and couldn’t get anything and dug the needles in my hands and elbows really hard. I’m on a ward currently as I was told I could bleed to death.

I just looked in the mirror and the blood is gone it’s scabbed over and I can’t taste blood or anything . Get this , a nurse and doctor just came up to me and said we need to do an emergency Meningitis check with extraction from spinal cord snd ct scan. But before I have this I have to have a second covid jab even though I’ve already had it and they are saying I haven’t !

I want to leave I’m really scared i would rather call the doctors tomorrow and be seen there this hospital is terrifying please help ladies

Im on my own and late twenties I’m afraid 😔😭😭

I think you need to ask the hospital as many questions as you have in order to get comfortable. They don't order tests unnecessarily but you're entitled to understand why they want you to have a 3rd jab and why the tests are needed

Duckyneedsaclean · 11/10/2021 19:35

You can self discharge. Just tell them, they will all you to sign a declaration that you are leaving against medical advice.

They may get a doctor to speak to you - if they do you can explain that the issue you came in with seems to have resolved and you don't understand why you are being asked for further tests.

Lougle · 11/10/2021 19:35

Firstly, you should be able to check that you have had both jabs in your NHS account.

Why are they testing you for meningitis? Do you have a fever? Is your neck stiff?

Rosiiiiie · 11/10/2021 19:37

Did they get the wrong patient….?

FleasInMyKnees · 11/10/2021 19:39

I wonder if they have you mixed up with another patient

CorrBlimeyGG · 11/10/2021 19:39

Are you sure they don't mean a covid swab? There's no obligation to have the vaccine before any medical treatment.

Fluffypastelslippers · 11/10/2021 19:42

I'm confused. Surely you don't have a right tonsil of you have had a tonsillectomy? When did you have it? Why have none of the covid questions come up when you were in having it done?

CorrBlimeyGG · 11/10/2021 19:45

Are you still pregnant?

Frazzled2207 · 11/10/2021 19:47

Sounds like an almighty cock up. I’d be asking if there’s any chance of a mix up and what makes them think you might have meningitis? And depending on what they say self-discharge,

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 11/10/2021 19:50

Can’t comment on the meningitis and vaccine stuff but if there is a risk of your tonsils being infected and bleeding then stay in. I nearly bled to death with mine.

JuneOsborne · 11/10/2021 19:56

You post so much about your health, do you have diagnosed health anxiety?

And how many weeks postpartum are you? I'm surprised they did a tonsillectomy that close to you giving birth. Do they know you have a newborn or are you still pregnant?

Charlotteharknettx · 11/10/2021 19:58

No and my neck is only stiff after tonsillectomy and they are saying they’ve got the right name and I checked the documents I feel crazy I’m going to leave and phone my gp tomorrow

I would suspect they mean a covid swab not a covid vaccine.

Fluffypastelslippers · 11/10/2021 20:02

They told you that you could bleed to death so you are going to leave?

Why?

Gwrach · 11/10/2021 20:37

But if it was a clot means whatever had caused the abbrasions the blood had done its job clotted to prevent further bleeding and has now scabbed over. Why didn't you listen to the initial surgeon?

I'd understand if it were continuously bleeding, that would be a concern. But a manky old clot? Nah after a few glasses of water you would have washed it down (grim I know).
