Blocked eustachian tube?

For over a week I've been pretty much deaf in my left ear and hearing a high pitched beep. Feels like I'm underwater. I've been putting otex drops in but don't get any fizzing/bubbling and there's been no improvement. So I'm thinking it's not earwax that's built up. Dr google says it might be a blocked eustachian tube? Has anyone had this? Will it ever go away? It's driving me mad and I've got an important meeting this week. Do I need to see a doctor?
And advice gratefully received, thanks!

I have a permanently blocked Eustachian tube, basically glue ear. Due to multiple infections as a child. It fills more when I have a cold and things sound weird, like I am under water. Go to doc and get them to look. Both of mine got blocked and infected recently, with a cold, and I now have two burst eardrums. Joy.

Oh gosh you poor thing! Flowers I will submit a request to doctor on Monday. Just really wanted to avoid the faff of waiting for the call, having the call then them saying hmm you'd better come in so I can look at it, then running the gauntlet of receptionists...

This is what I think I had last year. R ear became blocked like with a constant feeling of pressure buildup. No wax and it was after a really bad head cold and an episode of sinus issues. Was so annoying and was really getting me down. There are ways to help unblock it,google methods. Massage and I also bought a couple of gadgets on line which really helped- Otovent auto inflation device and an ear popper. Also Nasonex steroid nasal spray was prescribed. It thankfully resolved over few weeks to a month.

I have had both ears blocked for several years.
Unless you have significant hearing loss the NHS won't do anything, in my experience.
I am used to that blocked sensation., but the mild hearing loss is frustrating.
