Does this look like tonsillitis?

Excuse horrible photos. I know GP attention/ see medical professional yet haven’t managed to get through to GP last few days. My throat has been like this for a week, very painful to eat, drink swallow. Just wondered if it looks like tonsillitis? Viral? I know to seek medical :(

Yes it did manage to clear for me, progressed from hurting to swallow to typical cold symptoms, blocked nose and the like. Now have a cough and am bringing up phlegm 🤢🤢🤢 but on the whole feel a lot better than a few days ago

OP, DS recently had tonsillitis and had white spots at the back of his throat. We have all had covid though back in June, and I can honestly say we all keep suffering with sore throats still

@lana29 just paracetamol and lots of fluids. I was given antibiotics for a secondary ear infection which has more or less cleared now but as the tonsillitis is viral it’s a case of wait for it to get better. It doesn’t feel quite so bad this morning so hope it’s a sign I’m on the mend. I’ve feel so ill that I did a second PCR as I didn’t believe the first negative result!

I have the same symptoms, you don't need medical assistance, just gargle salt water and soluble paracetamol. The NHS is overloaded and can do without sore throats.

My Dd recently had a chesty cough with green phlegm. Did eventually manage to speak to a doctor over the phone, but by then she seemed to be improving and did get better on her own in the end.

@Calendulaaaaa The reason I wanted to speak to a doctor is because I an immunopressed, and I am coughing up blood too and that it seems to get worse not better :(

Update doctor thinks I’ve caught infection on top of covid as immune weak :(
