Raised high sensitivity c reactive protein

Hi. I have paid to have some private blood tests done that I drew blood myself at home for and sent away. Because I haven't had a full blood count etc taken for many years and I wanted a genteel idea of my cholesterol levels, blood sugars, thyroid, liver and kidney function etc and the doctors are not doing standard blood tests at the moment due to the test tube shortage.
Anyway, all has come back optimal of normal results apart from the c reactive protein which is 11.79. It says for me to contact my gp about it.
I had this test about 5 years ago and it was at 8 then. I haven't been ill or had any infections /injuries that I know of.
I've googled and read that whilst it should be under 10 this result wouldn't particularly be of any concern.
I don't suffer from any illnesses. I don't take any medication. But I am very overweight. Classed as morbidly obese. Would this explain the reason for the inflammation? Don't really want to bother the doctor

I’d consider a CRP of 11 to be essentially normal. Get excited when it’s >50. In acute infection/inflammation it’s often in the multiple 100s.

I honestly wouldn’t worry.

Thriva have a lot to answer for!

The trouble is, when you have these private blood tests, they're out of context. So you've had your CRP tested for no clinical reason.

And any GP will more than likely tell you that 11 is completely normal and no need to panic. It is more than likely due to you being overweight which does raise inflammation in the body
