Excessive sweating all year round 😥 Anyone else suffer from this? Have you found any medication that helps?

I have suffered from excessive all over body sweating since my teenage years. It is all year round. For example at standard room temperature or even outside when it’s not sunny if I am doing anything remotely active like housework at home or going for a gentle walk I start sweating. If it is 22 degrees or above and I’m doing moderate activity like say vacuuming or something I start sweating. This can mean damp clothes and not so noticeable or when it gets bad sweat is pouring down my face, neck, back and around my crotch (sorry if TMI).
It is so embarrassing and it stops me doing so many things due to this.

I once tried a medication I’m not sure what it was called now and it helped a bit but it did make my mouth very dry. It didn’t solve the problem so I didn’t continue it.

Has anybody else tried any medications that actually made a noticeable difference?

Iontophoresis would not work for me as far as I understand it as it is for armpits, hands and feet which isn’t my main problem, I have all over body sweating.

I would really like to find something that works because it stops me doing so many things and makes my anxiety so much worse.

Thanks for reading.

Have you tried CBD, it's great for all different things, I found I was sweating lots. I wasn't sure if it was hormones so started CBD and the swears have stopped. Also plenty of H2O

There are tablets you can take (i.e. glycopyrrolate) but the side effects (fatigue and dry mouth as you said) can be just as debilitating as the sweating. Have you tried Driclor or Certain-Dri?

There is a hyperhydrosis forum on Reddit if you haven't checked it out yet.

I suffer with this and have done all my life. It mainly affects my hands and feet and I've had an operation when I was 26 to stop my hands sweating (I'm 48 now). I'm not sure if they do the op now though, times might have moved on. It did work though (my hands dripped all year round) and literally changed my life.

I don't sweat much under my arms but my feet, crotch area, back and under boobs are terrible. I just use antiperspirant (Dove extra strong) all over these areas as much as I can and it really helps. I don't smell but have in the past found this really hard to keep on top of but you do develop a regime of keeping spare underwear, carrying around wipes and extra strong deodorant wherever you go!

Luckily my hands don't sweat and underarms don't really sweat that much so for me, that's the main thing and the rest I am just meticulous at cleanliness and using really strong antiperspirants.

Good luck op, it's a hideous thing to live with.

Hi Op, I suffer the same way that you do and it's called hyperhidrosis. I take medication called oxybutynin and although it does cause dry mouth (fixed with water) but it changed my life and does make a difference. There's also a roll on that your GP can prescribe called Anhydrol Forte that can help with the underarm etc Good luck!

@RicherThanYew - Thanks so much, I’m going to ask about the oxybutynin.
