Chicken pox twice

My 2 year old DS definitely had chicken pox at 4 months caught from my eldest. He was was absolutely covered, GP said worse case he had seen and because of his age was admitted to hospital in part too due to an infected spot on his eye. It was a horrible time and I've since found out there's been an outbreak in his nursery room. I'm so, so scared he will catch it again as I have read it can be likely if the first incidence happens when the child is under 6 months. He's barely eaten this weekend and now I'm concerned he's going to get it again. Is this really likely? I

My ds had chicken pox at 5½ months and then shingles age 3.

It's not a given that he didn't get immunity from his dose at 4 months. Could you get him immunised against it?

My eldest has had the vaccine plus confirmed chicken pox twice. I was told you're more likely to get it twice if it was very mild the the first time, so if he's had a bad bout of CP before, hopefully he will be ok.

Basically, who knows? I had a heavy dose of cp when I was 12, then a mild case at age 31!

I've had chicken pox 3 times and shingles twice. My son had very mild chicken pox at 5 months and has never had it again. Its just a wait and see kind of a situation.

It’s possible, I had it as a child then an adult but it was mild as a child. I’d have thought it would have been less likely after a severe case like your son had, but I guess there are no guarantees.

It's possible, but I believe only if they had a mild case the first time round. As was the case with one of my DD. So if your DV had a nasty dose the first time round, I wouldn't worry too much.

DC I meant

My DD had it at about a month old and has been exposed multiple times since then and not caught it despite the HV/MW & dr saying she probably would. I, on the other hand have had it twice as a child. So who knows.
