Hi all, looking for some advice here, about 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my son I had an episode of vertigo it didn't seem to last that long as a physio seemed to help. Over the past 5 years I've had this balance issue where i feel like I'm on a boat, even when I have a shower I feel like I am swaying. However recently it's becoming more constant and I've definitely noticed it gets worse before and after my period. My ears ring as they have for along as I can remember and recently my right ear has started to hurt. My doctor has sent me to a vestibular physiotherapy to work on my balance issue and also suggested a hearing test as he said I might have meniere's.

I also suffer from a chronic sore neck. Not sure if that is causing this issue...

Any help would be great.. thanks

I had vertigo which started 6 years ago. Felt like the floor was always swaying like being on a boat. Had brain fog and a constant headaches which came on after a year. I was told at the start that it was inner ear infection, but after a year I requested an MRI as it wasn't going away. That came back all clear. At this point the Dr asked me if I had any neck trouble. I never had any neck pain, but I have always struggled with things like scarves or high neck jumper etc as they give me headaches. It was suspected to be a weakness on me neck which I had physio for. This helped me manage my symptoms and they slowly improved. I am not sure if your issue would be the same, but may be worth looking into if you have neck issues.

How is this diagnosed? I've had my ears checked and they are clear.
