Called back for face to face

I was admitted to a surgical ward last weekend with suspected pancreatitis. As my bloods and an xray were ok I was allowed home with an ultrasound booked for Tuesday.
I went to this and the trainee sonographer took an hour scanning me and said he couldn't see anything worrying. A senior colleague had a look over and didn't seem concerned. I was told I'd have a follow up phone consultation a week today.
I've been called today and asked to come in for a face to face appointment on Monday to discuss my ultrasound results.
Feel fairly panicked by this and now have the whole weekend to get through.
Anyone had anything similar?

It could be because they found nothing and the doc wants to discuss the way forward and take more bloods or something?

Is there anything else going on with you that could explain the requirement for an appointment?

If not I’d guess it’s for more tests. Otherwise it would be by phone.

Thanks for the reply. I have MS and am on immunosuppressive meds so maybe they'll want to do further bloods. I'll tell myself that anyway.

I think it’s likely.

They would have told you nothing at the hospital if they suspected anything was amiss. They would have said sorry it’s not our policy. Your doctor will provided with the report and he will contact you to advise you in due course. Or somesuch.

They wouldn’t have said everything’s fine if it wasn’t. They would have clammed up.

I know it’s easy to say don’t worry - but don’t worry about it! Grin

Yes I agree about clamming up. I've had MRIs with obvious lesions on and obviously wasn't told on the day.

So hard not to second guess, thanks Smile
