Starting to worry this is neurological

I've posted a good few times about this now but I feel alone in this matter, I keep having episodes of dizzy spells and I don't mean spinning, more like swaying/on a boat sensation and my eyes have started to go a bit funny when it happens, it's almost like I'm about to faint. Blood pressure is fine and heart is also fine.
I'm also suffering from headaches on and off and my ears feel blocked however ear has been checked and looks normal - I'm booked in for an MRI on inner ear and audiology appointment with ENT.
Had an appointment with community ENT and all balance tests were normal.
Can someone tell me if they have experienced what I am experiencing, it's consistent and so debilitating, I get worried to leave the house because of the episodes, although I do....
I'm so scared, I keep thinking it's to do with my brain instead of my ears :/

Don't want to leave this unanswered but I have a neurological disorder. There are so so many different types of neurological disorder or inner ear disorders, ailments that could present like yours that the best thing to do is sit tight until it's been investigated 💐 And try not to worry x

sarahc336 · 10/09/2021 22:11

Could it be anxiety? Have a google of panic disorder, if all health related checks come back negative then it is likely to be anxiety related. I'm a therapist and work with people with these symptoms all the time but obviously we would always recommend that the symptoms are ruled out being from a health problem first xx

Snowwhite78 · 10/09/2021 22:11

The swaying sensation was experienced by a colleague and it was an ear/vertigo problem x

ItsAChallengingWank · 10/09/2021 22:12

Sounds like anxiety and maybe something with your balance to me

mooloop · 10/09/2021 22:14

Could it be Labrynthitis?

I do suffer with anxiety, I've had it since I was a child but it's never caused me physical symptoms which is what makes me think it may not be

@mooloop

Could it be Labrynthitis?
That was ruled out as I've had it for nearly two months now

I had swaying like this for about a fortnight. I was diagnosed with MS a few years after. There is no solid link between the two but I did mention it to my neurologist when I was diagnosed.
I know it's hard but getting an MRI is the best course of action to see what's going on so it's good that you have been referred for one.
It could be all sorts of things but I really do understand your worries.

Don't think its the same but I had this exact symptoms just before being diagnosed with gestational diabetes -

"episodes of dizzy spells and I don't mean spinning, more like swaying/on a boat sensation and my eyes have started to go a bit funny when it happens, it's almost like I'm about to faint"

I recall it lividly but my eyes used to feel like where going to disappear and sometimes had double or blurred vision.

BonnesVacances · 10/09/2021 23:03

Have a look at dysautonomia. That causes dizziness and there's a lot of it about atm post Covid.

If they can't find anything wrong with my ears I assume they will refer me to neurology or do a brain mri, I would rather have the peace of mind tbh, that way I know

I had that sensation of being on a boat for about a year before finally being sent for an mri. They found a tumour - fortunately benign and slow growing. Hope it's not that but if it is at least it can be dealt with

Did you have any other symptoms along with the swaying sensation?

ThatSunnyCorner · 10/09/2021 23:45

My 'seasickness' turned out to be vestibular neuronitis (think it's more commonly called neuritis these days). I felt so ill it was awful. It hasn't ever gone away fully but I can manage it.

No-one can tell you what's going on, but there are plenty of diagnoses that aren't sinister. Best of luck with getting a diagnosis Flowers

notangelinajolie · 11/09/2021 02:00

B12 deficiency? Has you GP tested for this?
One of the main symptoms I get when my B12 jab is due is ringing in my ears, feeling faint, lightheaded, vertigo, my coordination goes to pot and I start walking into doors and generally feel like I'm on a different planet.

NiceGerbil · 11/09/2021 02:05

How old are you?

I am having similar with perimenopause.

NiceGerbil · 11/09/2021 02:06

Sounds silly but are you eating enough?

weegiemum · 11/09/2021 02:08

I have that type of swaying, first had it about 6 weeks before I was in hospital with the onset of a neurological illness which I still have.

Other symptoms were tingling and numbness in my arms, legs and face, total numbness in feet and hands, lost the ability to whistle, and proprioception problems (that means didn't know where my body "was" - couldn't stay standing or clap my hands in the dark or with eyes closed). I also have muscle wastage and extreme fatigue.

What I have is very rare, but I'm happy to chat about what happened with me. If you want to pm, or on here, I don't mind.

TaraR2020 · 11/09/2021 02:37

Vestibular migraine?

Nsky · 11/09/2021 03:07

Had blurred vision dizziness, unsteady on feet, too much bi polar meds.
Had brain scan, and private opticians next week, new glasses not as expected

MovingSchmoving · 11/09/2021 03:13

I get the same thing and I have trigeminal neuralgia. However the diziness is the main symptom of the headache and actually worse than the headache itself.

DrNo007 · 11/09/2021 04:00

Obv it’s good to get a proper diagnosis but also worth checking out if it could be a side effect of medication you are already taking or supplements. I got similar strange neurological symptoms twice in my life— once when taking melatonin for sleep problems and the other time when using a hop filled pillow, also for sleep problems. Had to stop using both.
