Bug bite

It seems I've been bit during the night, initially I didn't look and thought it was because I was laid on one side too long (it's happened before) but then I looked and there's a noticeable bite there, it doesn't look infected in any way it's literally just a big red bite but my issue is it hurts to touch and around the surrounding area, when I'm bending down to do anything I'm getting pain in that area, is this normal for a bug bite? Again I'm not concerned about infection just the fact that it is hurting a lot and it came yesterday morning.
I've had a bite before a few years ago and it was a nasty one and ended up getting infected took nearly a month to clear.

Don't know if anyone will reply :/ but the spot seems to have got a bit bigger but there's no redness whatsoever which is really strange as it's very painful, it's been 3 days now. I haven't used any antihistamjne cream which I just read now that I should so I'm going to buy some in the morning but just want reassurance basically that it's not an infection :/
There's no spreading redness of pus just so much pain from the surrounding area!

I would get this looked at by a doctor if it’s that painful. You don’t need to see pus for it to be infected.

pharmacists can advise, too; much easier to see than a GP

chocolateorangeinhaler · 10/09/2021 05:57

No you do not need a GP. It's your body's natural reaction and shows it's fighting whatever venom you were injected with.

Only see a GP if you start to develop track marks or the swelling hasn't gone by a week.

They will only advise OTC care at this stage.

I thought so, it is a bit red and it has swelled a bit but it isn't spreading and there's no ring around or track marks so I guess it's ok, I will try the anti histamine cream

Definitely antihistamine (with pharmacists advise!) but a friend of mine was bitten by a spider and is having to take antibiotics. In the UK btw.

I don't even know what kind of bite it is, part of me thinks it was a spider because I ended up splatting one the day after I was bit, does it look ok to you? I'm a bit of a worrier as it is but the pain especially when bending it really does hurt

It doesn't look red, swollen, ugly. It doesn't look like an infection.
