Hi all,

Wondering if anyone on here has been through something similar and can help me stay sane.

Apologies if TMI.. I have had IBS for years now, I've had a particularly bad flare up recently last two months. This was paired with daily heartburn/indigestion and then dysphagia.

My doctor has been great and ordered a "full MOT" - bloods, stool sample and endoscopy.

Firstly, i was told that i needed to retake my bloods in 4 weeks as my LFT came back as "high". I only spoke to receptionist so didn't get anything more..I picked up the paperwork and they are also retesting Urea and UE.

Today i was told that following the results of my stool sample, I need an appointment with my doctor to discuss. This has been scheduled for Friday at the first available slot..Right now that feels a lifetime away.

Anyone had this sort of thing before? I'm anxious about what in earth this could all mean.

Thanks in advance!

H Pylori can cause indigestion symptoms & can be diagnosed by a stool sample- do you know what tests they were doing?
www.nhs.uk/conditions/gastritis/
H. pylori gastritis

Many people become infected with H. pylori bacteria and do not realise it. These stomach infections are common and do not usually cause symptoms.

But an H. pylori infection can sometimes cause recurring bouts of indigestion, as the bacteria can cause inflammation of the stomach lining.

This sort of gastritis is more common in older age groups and is usually the cause of chronic (persistent) non-erosive cases.

An H. pylori stomach infection is usually lifelong, unless it's treated with eradication therapy.
