Are teeth meant to feel slightly loose?

Strange question I know. The reason I ask is quite abit back I told my dentist some of my teeth feel abit loose when I brush them or eating certain things. He never mentioned any problems so I'm assuming there wasnt any but he did say its normal for adult teeth to feel slightly loose not to the point of wobbly but some can feel like they move especially after brushing and eating something hard. I only knew when I got something stuck one day and was messing I realised it was loose then I checked others and some others felt loose too only very slightly. I've even googled this and it matches what my dentist said but did anyone else know this? Problem being now i know which ones are loose i keep messing with it with my tongue and dont even know im doing it sometimes.

Your dentist says it isn't a problem. He wouldn't lie to you, it's in his interests to treat problems.

I think I can feel a tiny bit of movement on some of mine, but I suppose that's because they're not set in stone.

@Poppypops123 Thank you for posting this! I feel reassured. Now if only my teeth and fillings would stop crumbling, I'd be a happy bunny! Am trying to avoid my dentist like the plague. Grin

It's normal for teeth to have slight movement. They are held on by ligaments, they aren't attached to the bone.

@RavingAnnie thanks for the link thats interesting.

@painterinperil this was a while back as also try to avoid my dentist as I have a fear but strangely not of fillings but having the cleaning done. The last time they did this it was really painful and I had toothache for days!

@lubaluca I got scared because the one that started to feel loose on me was the front one and I panicked. I could not afford to have a tooth replaced it's really expensive I have noticed more loose and should really go back for another check but getting an appointment is hard at the minute. I'm glad I googled though. I just find it strange how not all of them are loose only a few. Mine is mostly when I've brushed them.
