Heavy feeling in vagina

This weekend I noticed after being on my feet all day and doing a lot of physical work ( lifting) that I have a heavy swollen and dry feeling in my vagina, like a there's a tampon. but there isn't. If I sit or lie down I feel like there are air bubbles up there and still have the swollen feeling. I am peeing a lot too and my urine slightly burns, but this morning when I got out of bed I felt like I needed to cup a had over my vulva, not sure why! ..I looked and no obvious signs of prolapse. I know I am constipated, could this effect it at all. Outside the body, my bladder area feels a little bit sore too. I'm 52 and perimenopausal, just finished a course of progesterone. Does this sound like a prolapse? I'm due to go on holiday tomorrow, so really worried.

Sounds like you need to do a urine sample for them to test tomorrow. Are you itchy too?

You need to see doc for a vaginal examination and urine test. A prolapse does not necessarily hang from the vagina - mostly it comes part way down and causes a heavy feeling inside, as you describe. The constipation will not be helping and it may be that you have a large hard stool pushing into the vaginal wall.

Def sounds like you need to be seen by a doctor before you go on holiday. If it’s a I’m holiday could you delay by a day? Good luck - hope it’s all ok.

Not itchy in the slightest. I will call the DR tomorrow. Thankyou

I had these exact symptoms, the dry feeling, the bubble feeling and heavy dragging sensation for years after my second child, it was a mild prolapse. It mostly righted itself in time with lots of pelvic floor exercises, however comes back if I get unwell and cough a lot. Sounds like a prolapse to me so worth seeing your GP

Sounds like a partial prolapse- I wouldn't say it's urgent, but it is important. There are various ways of helping it.

I have this exact feeling right down to the air bubbles and it is a mild prolapse of the uterus and bladder! I also have the pain externally but nobody has been able to explain that part, they have suggested vaginal dryness and suggested using a vaginal moisturiser but that hasn't resolved it at all. Please update me if you get any further suggestions on this side of it?
Also the constipation definitely won't be helping at all. I've been advised to never allow this with regular fibre sachets. Hopefully you will feel infinitely better when you go to the toilet eventually. If not then pelvic floor exercises are meant to help and that's what I'm working on on advice from physio!

Doctor should ideally examine you standing up. A prolapse isn't going to be obvious if you're lying down.

I had this feeling and it was a bladder prolapse. Not nice at all.
