Is this a migraine

I've always suffered from headaches, nothing really severe and not constantly. I've been to Gp over the years and just told its stress because of work/home life. I'm not convinced.

Just recently I've been having them more, they will come about once a week and it feels like a tight pressure and goes down to my neck. I can wake up the next day and be fine and then a few days or weeks later it will be back. I've had another telephone consultation and been told again is stress/tension headache but I'm getting a bit worried, although it has been happening for years now.

It could be migraine, it could also easily be stress/tension. Have you tried getting a neck/shoulder massage and see if that helps? There are shiatsu shoulder massages you can buy on Amazon that are good.

Also, I have been seeing a cranial osteopath which has been massively helpful and she also gave me some stretches to do which are also helping.

Down the neck does sound like tension headache, although there's not always an obvious distinction - I suffer a mixture of the two.

What other symptoms are you getting, and do painkillers help?

My migraines cause more of a stabbing pain, often severe. Usually the pan is above the eye or at the back of my head. Apart from triptans the only thing that helps is lying still in bed in a really dark room.
