What your breasts should feel like

For some reason, I've started obsessing how my breasts feel but I've always been scared to ask if it's normal. I feel like I have 2 large flat, hard 'masses' in both breast, although the 'lumps' feel harder and bigger on the upper/outer area of each breast. The 'mass' itself feels lumpy/ropey, both breasts feel the same. Is this normal? My breasts are also quite floppy since have 2 kids and breastfeeding them. But I always wondered about the large 'flat' mass I feel in both breasts...is this normal breast tissue? I've read a few other posts on here when some women say they have something similar

See your doctor. If you’re concerned.

I've actually made an appointment, but it's not until next week so thought I'd hear from other women in the meantime

Same on both sides is a good thing. Breasts can feel ropey, lumpy and painful and change throughout the month. If you’re worried at all, a gp will reassure you.

It sounds like glandular tissue.

This diagram about breast anatomy might be helpful.

Sounds totally normal 😊

Stupid question but are you sure they aren't your breast bones you can feel. I have the same and I'm sure it's my ribs.

each woman's breasts are different and sometimes different from left to right. this is why dr's encourage you to get to know your breasts how they feel and know the difference at different times of the month. oh they will be different pre and post pregnancy.
yes once you check out a normal breast diagram you will see how the tissue behind the nipple is different and how you have lymph nodes under your armpits. there is also a tight cartilage band under the breasts.
