Hello,
DD, 19 months, has produced very dark green poos (the colour of goose poo!) both yesterday and today. Is this something to be worried about?? It's never happened before...

What has dd had to eat recently? Ie veg-wise?

WindUpBird · 30/11/2007 20:36

Thanks for reply. She hasn't had any green veg, she NEVER eats green veg. I can't think of anything out of the ordinary she's eaten... She's actually been a bit off her food and was pretty constipated for the past few days prior to the green poo!

Does she eat licorice?

something in her diet I bet
anything with green food colouring in it, eg a cake with blue or green icing?

I have had two green poo incidents
one = farm cakes with green grass icing
two = Dr Who cake with blue Tardis

If she's been constipated that's probably why they're an odd colour. I wouldn't worry about it. Without trying to be too descriptive I'd say its a case of 'old' poo - ie poo that has been sat in her bowels for longer than normal.

Try giving her decent good quality orange juice to drink - ie Tropicana - its excellent for keeping a child regular!
