Gallstones

So I've been diagnosed with gallstones following 2 pregnancies and although I haven't had typical gallstone 'attacks' which I hear people describe, I still get the odd discomfort under right ribs, excess gas, indigestion etc. All my bloods including LFTs are normal, so for now my consultant has advised I wait to see what happens. I was told the surgery waiting list in 12-18 months in my area and I can't afford to go private.
I'd love to hear from people who, for now are living with gallstones and who won't be having surgery for now. I know most people get their gallbladders taken out, but that's not going to happen for me now. Is anyone out there coping ok with their gallstones?

My last gallstone attack was in 2017 and I was hospitalised overnight and on morphine for the pain. I was put on the waiting list for surgery but when the date came around I was still waiting for some other medical investigations so it couldn't go ahead.
Since then I haven't had any further episodes. I avoid fatty foods though to manage my weight and think that maybe this has helped.

@Els82 Same here no typical attacks so far but some indigestion, stones discovered by chance, so I too avoid fatty, greasy, fried food and it seems to help.

Thanks, that helps to know.
Yesterday I had quite a lot of fatty food, from cakes to ice-cream and lasagne. I didn't have any indigestion or pain but this morning I had some loose stools and was wondering if the gallstones caused this. But I will definitely try to manage my diet better now..
