Ectopic beats - how often do you get them?

I get them throughout the day on and off. Totally benign I'm told, but just curious how often others get them.

I've had them for the last 3/4 years. Had loads of tests done, but was told they're perfectly harmless and not as a result of anything. I'm fairly convinced that it's hormonal, but some days they're awful and it really gets you down.

Thanks @wineandsunshine - ended up leaving the party at about 11.30 as they were getting me down, funnily enough they went as soon as I left. So frustrating.

@inigomontoyahwillcox oh that's a shame.

They are V annoying aren't they!

@Jbck

Went through a bad time when I had dozens an hour most of the day for months. Have never been that bad again but probably a few a day most days now. Did control them with beta blockers for a while but weaned off and they never returned as severely. Have also had stress tests, scans, 24/48 & 72 hour tapes, kept diaries but no underlying cause. Used to be very disconcerting but don’t bother me now unless I have a run of them , I barely notice.
Hi, what beta blockers were you on? I'm on bisoprolol but currently have to wean off as I'm pregnant and my skips are getting worse 😩

Hi, i get these, feels like my heart stops then does a massive thud, or flutters about, i hate them and of course they are worse at night. Had loads of tests about 2 years ago including a CT scan all fine.

I've started taking magnesium as supposed to help, not notice much as only been taking them a week.

But they are really getting me down now as it is everyday, worse when i sit or lie down

I get these a lot. Was referred to a cardiologist a few years back after a 24 hour ecg, he didn't seem too concerned, advised me to stop smoking and reduce caffeine which helped. I find them more common now when I take codeine for my back and joint pain.

I'm also on beta blockers btw - labetalol.
